Five new COVID deaths, 233 cases

Panjim: The State’s COVID-19 mortality count continues to rise as five patients succumbed to the deadly infection on Thursday. Till date, a total of 597 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus. 

The active cases stood at 2,436 with 233 new cases being reported for the day, that also saw 194 patients being declared cured. Till date, a total of 40,168 patients have been cured, of the 43,201 confirmed cases.

On Thursday, a total of five patients were declared dead at GMC. These included a 58-year-old female from Altinho; 55-year-old female from Karnataka; 63-year-old male from Ponda; 60-year-old male from Mapusa and a 79-year-old male from Sanquelim.
