A day after it received a reminder from the Margao Municipal Council on the Sonsodo matter, Fomento has wrote back to the Civic body to give them time till mid-May to return the draft Concession agreement for ratification.
And, Fomento in its letter to the Civic body, has reminded the Council that the Civic body had consumed much time in getting the draft agreement vetted by the Municipal advocate.
MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde said Fomento has asked for some time to go and study the points in the draft Concession agreement before the same is sent back to the Civic body for ratification by the City Fathers.
He, however, stated that the company has promised to submit the draft Concession agreement by mid-May.
The Margao Municipal Council had on Wednesday dashed off a letter to Fomento reminding the company on the urgent need to cap the Sonsodo site with tarpaulin in view of the fast approaching rains.
The Civic body had also asked the company to carry out drainage works at the site to ensure that water from the dump yard is channelled out in the right direction.
