MARGAO: Locals from Chinchinim are upset over the frequent transfers of panchayat secretaries at the office. After the fifth secretary was transferred in the last few years – each serving only for around 10 months — locals said such frequent transfers hampering the function of the panchayat.
They pointed out that it takes time for the secretary to get acquainted with their issues. The follow ups with other departments are done through the secretary and when there is a transfer, one has to start the entire process of explaining to the new secretary the details relating to follow up works.
Further, they pointed also out that in the last few years six talathis had been transferred. They pointed out that important matters related to households or other permissions are kept on hold because of these frequent transfers of secretaries.
