Goa Catering Association Seeks 50% Gas Subsidy, Suspends Live Kitchen Services Amid Crisis

The Goa Catering Association has appealed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to extend support to the sector by ensuring at least 50% cooking gas supply or subsidy, warning of severe operational challenges in the coming days.

In its representation, the association highlighted that rising costs and supply constraints are putting immense pressure on catering businesses across the state. It cautioned that without immediate intervention, many operators may struggle to sustain their services.

As a temporary measure, the association has informed customers that live kitchen services have been put on hold until the issue is resolved. Industry stakeholders say the suspension could impact events and functions, particularly during the peak season.
