Goa Dairy to hike milk prices from Jan

PONDA: Goa Dairy has decided to hike the price of cow milk by Rs 2 per litre and standardised milk by Rs 4 per litre.
However, the prices of full cream (high fat milk) and toned (cold gold) milk will remain the same. With the hike in price, the standardised milk will cost the consumers Rs 50 and cow milk Rs 44, from January 1.  
This was informed by Goa Dairy Administrator Arvind Khutkar on Wednesday.
The government has granted permission for the proposed to hike the prices of milk. Goa Dairy is hiking prices after one and half year. The last price hike was effected in March 2017.
Khutkar said, “All other dairies in the country have already hiked their prices. Goa Dairy is increasing its prices from January following shortage in procurement from farmers from Goa as well as the neighbouring States.”
