Goa witnessed a sharp decline in domestic air travel in June 2026, with passenger traffic falling 19.4 per cent compared to the same month last year, according to the latest aviation data.
The number of domestic air passengers travelling to and from Goa dropped from 565,727 in June 2025 to 455,993 in June 2026, reflecting a significant year-on-year decrease.
Despite remaining among India’s leading travel destinations, Goa ranked ninth among the country’s top destination states for domestic air passenger traffic during the month.
The state also recorded one of the steepest year-on-year declines in domestic air travel, highlighting a slowdown in passenger movement compared to other major destinations across the country.
The decline comes amid changing travel patterns and evolving market conditions, although the reasons behind the drop were not immediately specified. Industry stakeholders are expected to closely monitor passenger trends in the coming months as the tourism sector looks to sustain visitor arrivals during the year.
