Goa Forward Councillor Slams Margao Ward Delimitation as Arbitrary

A Goa Forward Party councillor, along with others, has filed a formal objection to the proposed ward delimitation draft under the Margao Municipal Council, alleging that the changes are arbitrary and not aligned with established norms.

The representation states that the proposed reconfiguration violates key principles such as territorial contiguity, geographical compactness, and administrative convenience. It highlights that areas previously forming a single, well-defined unit have been split without any clear justification.

Residents have also raised concerns that certain areas have been included in different wards despite lacking geographical and functional linkage, which could create administrative challenges and confusion among locals. They warn that such changes may disrupt existing community structures and affect effective governance.

The objection urges authorities to reconsider and revise the draft, restore cohesive ward structures, and ensure transparency and fairness in the delimitation process.
