The Government of Goa has informed the High Court that adequate safety arrangements will be put in place for the upcoming Shirgao Lairai Devi Jatra.
During the proceedings, the government assured that all necessary precautions would be implemented to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the annual event, which attracts a large number of devotees.
The state also stated that a decision regarding the Devasthan Committee will be taken in a time-bound manner, based on the findings of last year’s stampede fact-finding report.
The assurance comes amid heightened focus on crowd management and safety protocols, following concerns raised after the previous incident.
