Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa Highways Law (Revival of Operation, Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2023 has been withdrawn and will be reintroduced after incorporating suggestions made by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Addressing the issue, the Chief Minister said the bill, which was pending with the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi, was withdrawn following recommendations for certain amendments.

“We have withdrawn the Goa Highways Law (Revival of Operation, Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2023, which was pending before the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi. They have suggested certain changes in the bill. We will incorporate those suggestions and put forward the bill again. For now, we have withdrawn the bill,” the Chief Minister stated.
The decision is aimed at aligning the proposed legislation with the recommendations of the Union Ministry before it is presented again for consideration.
The revised bill is expected to be reintroduced after the suggested modifications are incorporated, paving the way for further legislative deliberations.
