The Anjuna Police have registered a case against the manager and security staff of a Restaurant in Vagator after a woman from Uttar Pradesh alleged that she and her family members were abused and assaulted during a confrontation at the restaurant in the early hours of November 2.
According to the complaint filed by 24-year-old Vaibhavi Chandel, a resident of Varanasi, the incident occurred around 2:00 am when the restaurant’s manager, Ajay Kavtikar, allegedly abused her and her family members in filthy language. The complainant further alleged that Kavtikar, another accused Junaid Ali, and several security personnel attacked her relatives, including Shivansh Singh and Yuvraj Chandel.

The FIR states that one of the unidentified security guards assaulted Yuvraj Chandel with an iron pole on his chest and back, causing injuries. When Vaibhavi tried to intervene, the same staff member slapped her and attempted to pull her T-shirt, while another guard allegedly pushed Ms. Shivangi Singh on her chest, causing her to fall and outraging her modesty.
Following the complaint, police registered Anjuna Police Station Crime No. 143/2025 under Sections 352, 118(1), and 74 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Police said investigations are underway to identify the other security staff involved and verify CCTV footage from the premises.
