Goa Police reshuffle: Over 600 officers moved

PANJIM: In a major reshuffle, the Superintendent of Police (HQ) ordered the transfer of 616 police personnel on Monday. The transfers include 72 Assistant Police Inspectors, eight female Assistant Police Inspectors, 202 head constables, five female head constables, 263 police constables, 39 female constables, 27 drivers and others. The Police Establishment Board recommended the transfers, as per the order issued on February 10, by SP Nelson B R Albuquerque.

Last year, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that police inspectors posted at preferred stations as a favour would not be retained. He had assured that such officers, along with sub-inspectors, would be transferred to other divisions, with staff rotations across Goa police stations.
