The Electricity Department has announced an annual power shutdown on Sunday, April 12, to facilitate maintenance of 220KV and 110KV substations across Goa.
According to officials, the shutdown will be in effect from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, during which several regions will experience a complete disruption in power supply. Areas affected include Salcete, Canacona, Sanguem, Quepem, Mormugao, as well as parts of Dharbandora and Ponda.
However, certain areas have been exempted from the shutdown. These include Raia, Curtorim, Loutolim and Macazana, where power supply will remain unaffected.
The scheduled maintenance is part of routine measures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power infrastructure. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimise inconvenience.
