Goans die in swimming accident in UK

PANJIM: Two men from Goa, who had gone swimming in the River Avon in England, and were pulled by rescuers have been pronounced dead. 

BBC reported that police said the pair, part of a ‘group of young men’ from the Swindon area, had travelled to Bath intent on ‘enjoying the nice weather’.

Sources told Herald that the men are from Goa and that arrangements are being made to repatriate their bodies home. 

BBC also reported that an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said the deaths were not being treated as suspicious and would be referred to the coroner.
