HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, MAY 23
Thieves struck Seraulim once again last night, decamping with gold ornaments worth around Rs 80,000.
Unknown miscreants barged into the house of Savio Fernandes last night and stole the gold ornaments. The thieves effected entry into the house by breaking the window grills.
The incident came to light this morning and the matter was reported to the Colva police later in the day. Incidentally, Seraulim village appears to have under the scanner of an organised gang of criminals as evident by the number of theft cases reported in recent times, including a daring day light house burglary.
Sadly, the Colva police appear to have not worked up any strategy to keep the thieves at bay. Residents have complained that the Colva police have virtually ignored Seraulim village in the scheme of things and have called upon the men-in-uniform to intensify night patrolling.
Incidentally, the daring dacoity reported inside the bungalow at the Benaulim side of  Kharebandh bridge remains undetected till date.
