VASCO: Goa Customs sleuths thwarted a major attempt of gold smuggling when they seized 1240 grams of gold worth Rs 33 lakh from an international passenger on Wednesday.
According to G B Santimano, additional Commissioner of Customs, Goa Airport, an international passenger was held and gold worth Rs 33 lakh was seized, on arrival from Jeddah via Oman Air. The gold was seized under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962 and the seizure was made under the supervision of Santimano, and guidance of R Manohar, Commissioner of Customs, Goa.
Further investigation in the case is under progress
