PANJIM: Stating that the Central government is on nationwide campaign called ‘MODI- Making of Developed India’, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on mission to “clean India” through demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
Union Minister called for cleaning of bad money from all the spheres including Cinema so that country can have a peaceful life.
Speaking at the inauguration of 47th IFFI inaugural, Naidu said that the decision to demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency, the process touches the life of every citizen in the country. “Prime Minister wants to have real swacch bharat. Clean India,” he said adding that the money has to be white so that you can really sleep well.
“But today you have seen the position, some people are not able to sleep or weep also publicly because they have lot of unaccounted money, so cleaning of India is going on,” he commented.
In his own style, Naidu said the campaign by Modi in India is not about the Prime Minister but about “Making of Developed India” (MODI). “There is a campaign going on in the country for Modi…not Narendra Modi…but MODI means making of developed India that is a campaign going on. Join the campaign, help in clean India, set good examples, creates role models and become inspiration to other people,” Union Minister said.
He said that the first demonetization was undertaken in 1946, due to the negative inflow of money. “It was exactly the 70 years ago that first demonetisation took place. But even after seven decades today, these people are affected by these greedy shots. That is why our Prime Minister today brought in change,” he said.
“I understand there will be bad money everywhere…In every part of the society, in politics, in public life and even in cinema. We need to get rid of it so that we can have peaceful life and we can have progressive future,” Naidu added.
“This cleansing set in motion by PM should add good to the film industry also I am happy that the first people to welcome the move of PM are from the cinema industry. They have welcomed it,” the minister said.
