The Bombay High Court at Goa today directed the State Government to file an affidavit, over the affairs of Asilo Hospital in Mapusa, within next four weeks.
Amicus curiae Saresh Lotlikar said that the court has appointed Advocate Rayan Menezes as a consultant to inspect the machineries installed at the hospital.
The Division Bench comprising of Justice A S Oka and Justice F M Reis today has asked government to file a detail report on when the doctors and nurses were appointed and where have been they posted. Report on recruitment of staff for the hospital is also sought by court.
The court was hearing a petition by Prakash Sardessai which has been pending since the last three years. The petition has raised the issue of quality of public health care and conditions of the government-run health institutions.
Goa Government has been also directed to shift trauma and ICU in the old building on immediate basis till the new building gets a facelift.
Last week, court had suggested that government should go ahead with the commissioning of the hospital immediately without waiting for the Public Private Partnership (PPP) to be worked out.
The court had also raised suspicion over government decision to start the hospital by March 2011.
