Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that around 1.80 lakh women in Goa are currently benefiting under the Griha Adhar Scheme, with each beneficiary receiving ₹18,000 annually as financial assistance.
The scheme, originally launched during the tenure of former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, has since become a key welfare initiative aimed at supporting homemakers and strengthening household incomes.

Addressing the public, CM Sawant said that beneficiaries are provided ₹1,500 per month, amounting to ₹18,000 per year. He added that the financial assistance serves as crucial support for families across the state.
The Chief Minister further clarified that the amount will be directly credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries on the 10th of every month, ensuring timely and transparent disbursement.
Sawant noted that several governments have drawn inspiration from the Griha Adhar Scheme, highlighting its impact as a model welfare programme focused on women’s empowerment and financial security.
