PONDA: Goa Governor P S Shreedharan Pillai, accompanied by his wife Rita Pillai, visited Shree Siddhanath Parvat in Borim, Ponda taluka on Saturday. Speaking to reporters after his visit to the ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Governor expressed his admiration for the scenic beauty and historical significance of Goa’s landscapes. He announced plans to publish a book featuring Goa’s prominent hills and mountains, focusing on their historical, cultural, and environmental importance.

The Governor shared that he intends to visit more scenic locations across the State, with Chandreshwar Boothnath Parvat set as his next destination.
The visit was marked by a warm welcome from Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar and other dignitaries, including Shree Navdurga Devasthan President Shyam Prabhu Dessai and Borim Sarpanch Jayesh Naik. After offering prayers at Shree Siddhanath Devasthan, the Governor took in the scenic views of Siddhanath Parvat, guided by historian Sanjeev Sardessai, who shared insights into the site’s history.
Earlier, the Governor also visited Shree Navdurga Devasthan and Shree Kamleshwar Temple, offering prayers at each. Key officials, including Secretary to the Governor M R M Rao and Additional Secretary Sanjeev C Gauns Dessai, accompanied him on this cultural exploration.
