MARGAO: The Haj Committee of Goa has demanded Navelim BJP ticket for its President Shaikh Jina.
However, the committee has decided to support any decision taken of the party. The committee members have also agreed with the earlier decision of the Navelim BJP mandal that the party should field its own candidate rather than support an Independent in Navelim.
“The Haj departure program this time has been most successful in Goa. Shaikh Jina has got the National representation in the Haj Committee for the successful stint,” said Nizam Ladji, a committee member.
“Jina is the only eligible candidate of BJP and the Navelim ticket should be given to him,” Ladji said.
Mansoor Shaikh, another committee member, said that there was a need to give ticket to a person representing the minority community.
