K D Halarnkar on Thursday took the charge as fulltime chief officer of Pernem Municipal Council (PMC).
Halarnkar has taken the charge from Pernem Block Development Officer Soma Shetkar, who was given the additional charge as PMC chief officer.
It may be recalled that the residents of Pernem have been demanding a fulltime chief officer for PMC since the last 5-6 years.
