Goa Medical, Don Bosco, MBS and Khandola colleges won their first round matches in the inter-college football championship organised by Goa University at University ground, Taleigao on Thursday.
Goa Medical beat Fine Art College 2-0. Vasudev Gaad and Pranay Araujo scored for the winners.
Don Bosco routed Zantye College 4-1. Chedwick Furtado 2, Judas Fernandes and Flavio Lopes scored a goal each for Don Bosco while Neenad Pal was the lone scorer for Zantye.
MES beat Rosary 6-5 in the sudden-death. At the end of normal time the score was 1-1. Purushottam Kavlekar of MES scored in the 7th minute. Joel Niasso of Rosary scored the equaliser in the 41st minute.
In the tie-breaker, Purushottam Kavlekar, Saish Naik, Ferran Fernandes, Edwin Carvalho and Nikhil Alvares were on target for MES while Joel Niassa, Perryson Rebello, Iriston Moraes and Tyson Castanha scored for Rosary.
Govt. College, Khandola edged out PES College 3-2 in the tie-breaker. At normal time the score was goalless.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Terryl Dias, Sushil Halgekar and Sanket Jotkar scored for Khandola while Aditya Panjikar and Yuvraj Velingkar scored for PES.
Dempo Commerce routed GVM Ponda 4-0 in another match
