PANJIM: Besides the crores of rupees poured into Smart City Works, the Imagine Panjim Smart City mission has received additional Rs 5 crores. However, Sewerage work which was supposed to be completed has begun yet again with digging of roads. Herald TV asked people Is the constant digging only to misappropriate funds? Has it become “Money ki Baat?
Do they have plans how to spend the Rs 1200 crores allocated to Smart City? They have haphazardly done the Smart City work in a great hurry. They will have to redig the work and correct their mistakes. Here money will be wasted, there will be health problems for people. The children of the city and the senior citizens will have to breathe dust and die. The local MLA should have supervised it and told them to do the work properly. There are so many qualified engineers who could have been consulted. See from the Centre too they are not blaming anyone. Do you know the reason why? There will be escalation of costs. More money to the extent of another Rs 800 to Rs 1200 crores will come. Is the PM not responsible for this? Is the money reaching the PM? He doesn’t talk of Man ki Baat. Is Money ki Baat reaching there?

They have dug the road in front of our shop. Secondly the height of the footpath has increased with the putting of pavers. The water will come into our shop since there will be no way out for the water. They have put some other obstructions in front of the shop where our customers and we can fall. When we complained, they told ‘Saab’ has told us to do this. Our shutter too was not closing properly. Now we have rectified this. They did it when we went for lunch and did not tell us. There is no engineer on site to see this work. Now we will have to bring our masons and undo the shabby work they have done infront of my shop and also replace the shutter. This is additional expenditure for us.

We don’t know what they are doing. Four days ago a truck came. They brought planks, then the closed the road and now they have started digging the road. Due to this, we cant park our cars. Customers do not come because there is no parking left for them here. Senior citizens too are suffering. They did not tell us they were going to dig. The incharge is not to be seen. Only labourers are seen. If we tell them to stop the work, they just stop the work and leave. It is a problem for us since we only will have to suffer for a longer period of time. We cannot get the delivery trucks here. We are constantly suffering for the last three years.
