Hinduism is not a religion, but a way of life, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said tonight.
Bhagwat in his maiden speech at the concluding valedictory function of the month long training camp at the RSS headquarter here, said India has its own identity which is unity in diversity.
One must have mutual respect for other religions and just hurling abuses at other faiths was not good, Bhagwat said while referring to religious conversions in the country.
Referring to achievements of the country, he said, India has extremely done in the field of education, science, technology and armed forces and was ready to face any challenges and threats.
But at the same time expressed his concern over rise in extremism, poverty and called for systematic efforts to eradicate it from the society.
Bhagwat called for national will to fight all odds and for doing some concrete things for the development of the country.
The problems which existed during the days of Independence continued to haunt the country even after 60 years, he said.
Rest of the world is no where in comparison to India which has produced saints, seers and great heroes, he added.
