Youth from Mapusa, particularly in the Morod area, celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm, filling the locality with colours, music and festive cheer. Revellers gathered in large numbers to mark the festival by applying organic gulal, dancing to lively music and enjoying a rain dance that added to the excitement.
The celebrations created a vibrant atmosphere as friends exchanged greetings and wished each other “Happy Holi,” reflecting a strong spirit of unity and togetherness among the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Shina Arolkar said participants eagerly look forward to the festival each year. “You can see for yourself how we are enjoying as we are soaked in colours. Every year we celebrate and eagerly wait for this day, as it brings us together and we happily mark the festival of Holi,” Arolkar said.
Holi Celebrations in Curchorem
Meanwhile, the Bhartiya Sanskrutik Mandal celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm in Curchorem, showcasing vibrant traditions associated with the festival.
The event featured colour play, music and festive dancing, with members and locals turning out in large numbers. The celebrations highlighted cultural unity and brought together people from different backgrounds to mark the occasion.
Traditional Dhulwad Begins in Calangute
In Calangute, the traditional Shigmostav (Dhulwad) celebrations organised by the Shree Shantadurga Mandal commenced with devotees seeking blessings at the Shree Shantadurga Temple Calangute.
The rituals marked the beginning of the traditional festivities, with devotees participating in prayers before joining the celebrations.
