Hotel owner, two others arrested for forging NOC

MARGAO: Margao Town Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for forgery and using as genuine a forged document following a complaint lodged by Dr Anju Karangate who is the Medical Officer at the Urban Health Centre, Margao.
The forgery came to light when Hotel Gracy at Calconda was being inspected and the owner of the hotel Vimal Kumar produced a No Objection Certificate issued by the Urban Health Centre and signed by the Medical Officer to run the hotel.
However, Dr Anju noticed that she had not issued the NOC and that her signature was forged and hence lodged a complaint with the police who following investigation arrested the owner Vimal Kumar and two others.
The other two arrested are Rubi alias Rultana Adam from Rumdamol and Roshan Borkar from Margao and they have been booked under Sections 465, 468, 471, 420 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
PSI Ashish Parab who is investigating the matter is hopeful of arresting some more people in this matter.
