Husband Hacks Woman to Death at Bus Stand in Tamil Nadu

A shocking incident of daylight violence was reported from Tirunelveli on Sunday, where a man allegedly chased and hacked his estranged wife to death at a bus stand before surrendering to the police.

The accused, identified as Sudhakar from Palamadai, was married to Pechiyammal. The couple reportedly had two children but had been living separately for some time due to marital disputes and differences.

According to preliminary information from the police, Sudhakar confronted his wife at the bus stand in a heated argument. The situation soon escalated, and he allegedly chased her in the busy public area before attacking her with a sharp weapon. The brutal assault took place in broad daylight, leaving bystanders shocked and triggering panic at the location.

Pechiyammal sustained severe injuries in the attack and died on the spot before help could arrive. After committing the crime, the accused reportedly walked to a nearby police station and surrendered himself to the authorities.

Police have taken Sudhakar into custody and launched an investigation to establish the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the killing. Officials said further details will emerge as the probe progresses.
