I am contesting for Shiroda’s development: Deepak

PONDA: In a strong rebuttal to the recent criticism aimed against him by his rivals, MGP president and Shiroda candidate Deepak Dhavalikar, said Shiroda has not been developed in 30 years and that he is contesting to ensure that Shiroda is not neglected any further and gets developed.
“Some people are trying to instigate the voters against me calling me an outsider. Who is an outsider? These people are not only creating confusion about me but are the same who created confusion on the Chief Minister on this ‘outsider’ issue,” said Deepak, referring to the comments made by his rivals including independent MLA Govind Gaude.
It maybe recalled that Deepak was elected twice from Priol as an MLA and was defeated in the 2017 elections by Gaude.
“I am a Goan and all the supporters who are campaigning for me are from Shiroda only and are hundred percent Goans,” added Deepak, while indirectly hitting out at Gaude for ‘trying his luck in Shiroda’.
Deepak had also angered former Congress MLA Subhash Shirodkar who has now joined the BJP by stating that there has been no development in the constituency over three decades. The BJP candidate Shirodkar questioned what Deepak had done despite holding a portfolio and the MGP being in power with erstwhile consecutive coalition governments.
