PORVORIM: Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Dessai has said that it was unfair on the part of St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh to criticize the party publicly.
“The accusation by Wagh’s wife and the word ‘Supari’ uttered amounts to demeaning the image of the party. My personal opinion is that if Wagh is not happy, then he should resign from the party and criticize publicly,” Phal Dessai told media at Mapusa on Monday.
“There is no doubt that attack on Wagh is condemnable and the chief minister has already ordered enquiry into the incident. The police find that some suspects mentioned by Wagh were not in the village when the incident took place,” said Phal Dessai.
“Police are conducting the investigation about the suspects and necessary action will be taken. Wagh should exercise restrain for some time,” added Phal Dessai.
When media persons asked why Wagh was not given ministerial birth, Phal Dessai said the BJP go by certain criteria while offering ministerial berths to their elected representatives.
“Wagh is no doubt well educated and intelligent, but he did not fit into the criteria of the BJP at the time of allocation of ministerial post. Wagh should stop criticizing the party publicly and maintain patience so that the image of the party is not spoiled,” said Phal Dessai.
