VALPOI: The Melauli villagers continued their protest against the demarcating of land proposed for IIT project on Monday.

The villagers blocked the road and raised slogans against Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane. Around 200 women were present during the protest.
The villagers said, “The Government is trying to suppress our voices, by sending the police notices to us. The Government is also targeting our village youth who are fearlessly fighting to save our village from the destruction”.
The villagers demanded that the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane visit Melauli village and see the ground reality.
The villagers also demanded that the government gives the ownership of land first.
