PANJIM: The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) will be conducting a public hearing on the petition filed by it for approval of business plan for the Multi Year Tarrif Control of the Electricity Department for the control period 2019-22 on Oct 30, 2018.
Details of the business plan and the petition is available on www.jercuts.gov.in. The JERC has urged the public to express their views before the panel in person or via e-mail through [email protected].
Electricity Departments stated that its plans of overhauling the entire distribution network of the State could not materialise as the Ministry of Power did not accord sanction for the system improvement works worth more than Rs 1000 crore and instead accorded sanction for a mere Rs 52 crore totally for installation of digital meters and solar rooftops.
The department has now forwarded a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth Rs 465 crore for sanction under Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS).
