He  said, “Though the panchayat gave the token number, it is for revenue purpose. However, no construction NOCs were issued to the land owner and suitable action will be taken after presenting the inspection report  at the panchayat body meeting. In case of violation of the Panchayat Act, a show cause notice will be issued to the owner for further action.”

He informed that the token number was given the original owner, who sold it to another party and this second party sold the same to a third party, who constructed the structure without legal permission.  He said the token number is given for tax purposes only.

Panchayat secretary Harishchandra Naik and member of Aggressive Goans Santosh Tari were present.

Tari said, “The house owner based on just a token number without permission of panchayat managed to get electricity and water connections to said house with 14 rooms.”
