PANJIM: Former Union Law Minister Ramakant Khalap is tipped to be the Congress candidate from Panjim constituency for the March 3 Assembly polls.

Khalap, who is currently the Law Commission chairman, will have to sweat it out against Leader of the Opposition Manohar Parrikar.

“Khalap’s candidature has been almost confirmed,” sources told Herald from Delhi.

However, the development seems to have come as a surprise for Khalap himself, who expressed ignorance.
