PONDA: Residents from Pachmi-Khandepar, Ponda, have urged authorities to take up the work of building a new road at Pachmi, which leads to their residences. .
According to the residents, there are about seven houses on the hillock at Pachmi and in the absence of proper road some residents have now moved to rented premises at Khandepar as they find it difficult to get to their houses, especially the school going children.
The villagers said till Pachmi pond, there is a proper road for several other houses however a kilometre ahead on the hillock, there are about seven houses and the work of the proposed road was supposed to start a couple of years back.
Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar had recently launched the work, however according to locals nothing has been done.
When contacted, Mamledar said the work was pending due to rain and it will be expedited soon after the rain stops. The work has already been tendered.
