The Korgao Panchayat Gram Sabha has taken a proactive step toward improving sanitation in the village by passing a resolution for the daily collection of both dry and wet waste, along with regular roadside garbage cleaning. This move aims to foster better waste management practices and maintain a cleaner, healthier environment for residents. The initiative reflects the community’s strong commitment to public hygiene and sustainable living.
In addition to sanitation, the Gram Sabha addressed several pressing developmental concerns. Residents raised objections to the ongoing hill-cutting activities in Pernem Taluka, citing environmental impact and landscape degradation. Issues related to road widening were also discussed, with villagers emphasizing the importance of preserving the region’s rich biodiversity. The community called on the panchayat to adopt environmentally responsible approaches to development, underscoring a collective desire to balance infrastructure growth with ecological preservation.
