There was no major damage in the incidents of trees uprooting, however the landslide reported near El-Monte theatre, on the hill terrain in Mormugao was serious as the occupants of the house owned by one Francis Pereira located below the landslide site escaped unhurt.
The landslide occurred around 10 am and the rubble came crashing down on the retaining wall which collapsed and fell on the kitchen of the house located below the retaining wall.
The houses located in this area face the threat of landslides and Mormugao Municipal Council has served them eviction notices anticipating danger to the lives of people living there.
