PANJIM: With the detection percentage of cases reaching 88.38 per cent, crime and law and order has remained under control during the last one year, Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar said.

Speaking on the occasion of Police Raising Day, he said during the period 154 cases were booked under NDPS Act arresting 178 culprits and around 255 kgs consolidated drugs were seized valued at approximately Rs nine crore which is highest in terms of value of the drugs seized by Goa Police.
He said 4,91,796 traffic violation cases under Motor Vehicles Act have been booked and a fine of Rs 29,28,12,450 collected.
He said various enforcement drives and educational programmes were conducted to various sections of road users wherein 36,805 students and 43,736 drivers were educated.
Stating that Cyber Crime poses a major threat to the growing digitalisation and e-commerce, he said,” Our cyber cell has been further strengthened to deal with the growing menace of Cyber Crime. Our Cyber Crime Police Station has solved 15 cases arresting 38 accused.”
