PANJIM: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat has called on party workers to create awareness on the current Mhadei river controversy, exposing the lies and double stand of BJP government, ahead of Zilla Panchayat elections.
“Now there are ZP elections coming up. Let us create awareness among people on Mhadei and government failure to protect our river. This one issue itself will be enough to show the ruling, where they actually stand,” he said.
The ZP polls are due in March, 2020.
Kamat reiterated the demand that Centre should immediately withdraw the consent letters issued to Karnataka’s Kalasa-Bhanduri project for diversion of water from River Mhadei.
