Three persons, including a 14-year-old boy, were saved from drowning by Drishti Surf Life Team of lifeguards at Candolim and Palolem beaches.
According to Drishti reports, a boy was rescued from drowning by Dristhi lifeguard Sanjay Yadav, who noticed him in the deep sea and was in distress.
Informing the tower, the lifeguard swam across with his rescue tube and brought the boy safely to the shores.
At Palolem beach, two tourists from Bangalore and Nagpur were saved in two separate incidents.
Ranganath Nagraj (28) from Bangalore was rescued while he tried to cross the river from the beach end and was swept away with the waves.
Lifeguards Pandurang Padkar and Ajay Velip realizing the danger, swam across and rescued the tourist.
In another incident, Priyanka Modekar (21) from a group of 5 tourists from Nagpur, who were swimming in no swim zone, was rescued while she struggled in deep waters.
On noticing the tourist in distress, lifeguard Venkatesh Velip swam across and brought her safely ashore.
Lifeguards save 3 lives
