MARGAO: With LPG consumers making a mad rush at gas agencies, the district authorities have advised consumers not to panic, saying the government has extended registration of LPG consumers for the Direct Cash Transfer scheme by three months.
South Goa District Collector, N D Agrawal, took stock of the rush of consumers, including the fact that many consumers have not received their Aadhar cards.
“Consumers need not panic. The last day of registration has been extended by three months,” he said and disclosed plans to hold special camps on Saturday and Sunday at village level to generate e-Aadhar letters.
“It has come to light that despite an overwhelming majority of consumers having applied for Aadhar cards, consumers have not seeded their gas connections along with their e-Aadhar. We have now decided to prepare village wise list of such consumers,” he said.
He added “once the authorities receive the list of consumers who have not seeded their aadhar numbers, they will be intimated of the same.”
Replying to a question, he said that the special camps will be held only after receiving the list of consumers from gas agencies, promising to deploy all machinery at the taluka level and village level to generate e-aadhar letters.
He further said that the respective area service bank will be called for seeding the bank account number with e-aadhar at the village level camps.
