VALPOI: Bambar locals have accused the Nagargao Panchayat of not carrying out pre-monsoon works in the village which has caused flooding of the main road during heavy rains.
They complained that the commuters are forced to undergo hardship while commuting along the route as the road gets flooded during heavy rains. They said while commuting along the flooded route the travellers are left stranded as water seeps into the vehicle engines.

“Our main village road gets flooded during heavy rainfall. We are forced to undergo hardship as rainwater enters our houses,” complained Prakash Harwalkar, a villager.
“The PWD has the constructed a gutter above the road due to which the rainwater instead of flowing into the gutter flows on the road. This has led to the rainwater entering our houses,” said another villager.
The residents have demanded that the PWD construct the gutter in level with the road to solve the flooding issue.
