Malbhat cross vandalism:offence registered

The Margao police has registered an offence against unknown persons in connection with the vandalism of the Cross at Malbhat on Friday.
The police, however could not achieve any breakthrough in the case till date.
A police dog which were pressed into service sniffed its way to the Station road and then towards the Rajendra Prasad stadium before loosing the track at the Navelim road.
The incident sent shock waves across the locality and locals believed that it was the handiwork of elements from outside the state who have no respect for any religion.
President of the Holy Cross society of Santa Cruz, Gilson Baptista told Herald that people lodged a police complaint on late Friday night with the Margao police
He said a police dog pressed into service sniffed its way to the Old station road, Rajendra Prasad stadium and then to Navelim, but gave no clues about the accused persons.
Terming the incident as bad, Gilson said such incidents should not happen in peaceful Goa and expressed confidence that God will punish the guilty.
He hoped the police will take the investigations to the logical conclusion by arresting the guilty.
