PANJIM: The Children’s Court adjourned by one month the recording of British national Michael Mannion alias Mike Masala’s statement. He is the last witness to be examined in the 2008 Scarlet Keeling death case.
The Court had earlier scheduled his deposition via video-conferencing in the open court on Monday.
Mannion however submitted that he needs to take care of his critically ill father back in the UK. The Court while adjourning the recording has given the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the option to choose from three different dates for his deposition.
A team of CBI is already camping in London, UK. The sleuths were sent a week ago to check the logistics available to record the statement via video conferencing. It is however not known whether the team will return after the fresh development or continue to stay till the deposition is complete.
