PANJIM: Manohar International Airport (GOX), developed and operated by GMR Goa International Airport Ltd (GGIAL), has been honoured with the ‘Sarvashrestha Suraksha Puraskaar’ (Golden Trophy) at the National Safety Council of India (NSCI) Safety Awards 2024 under the Service Sector category. The award was presented at a ceremony held in January 2025 at a hotel in Mumbai.

The National Safety Council of India (NSCI), established by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India, invited entries from organisations across the country to recognise excellence in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). The awards aim to acknowledge efforts in reducing workplace injuries, implementing best OSH practices, and promoting continuous improvements in safety standards.
Manohar International Airport was assessed based on safety performance, statistics, commitment, awareness, training, promotional activities, and on-ground innovations.
Commenting on the achievement, R V Sheshan, CEO of GMR Goa International Airport, said:
“The Sarvashrestha Suraksha Puraskaar reflects the commitment of Manohar International Airport’s employees and partners in creating a safe and healthy work environment. It is an excellent example of GMR Group’s culture of safety. We know that safety is not a destination, it’s a journey.”
He added, “There is no silver bullet when it comes to delivering sustained, excellent safety results. It takes tremendous effort and determination from everyone at the airport to become safety ambassadors and maintain a workplace of this standard. This award motivates us to continue improving and setting new safety benchmarks.”
