The two-day Margao Purument Fest 2026 commenced on Saturday at Ravindra Bhavan Margao, bringing together traditional Goan products, local cuisine, and cultural heritage under one platform.
The festival is being organised by Goemkaranchi Girestkai in collaboration with the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission and the Directorate of Rural Development Goa.
Open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm, the event features more than 40 stalls from across South Goa showcasing a wide range of traditional products. Visitors can explore homemade food items, handicrafts, spices, pickles, sweets, coconut-based products, shell crafts, dry fish, kokum products, and other locally made goods.
Dedicated food stalls serving authentic Goan cuisine along with non-alcoholic beverages have also drawn large crowds during the opening day of the festival.
Organisers said the primary objective of the event is to support local artisans, women self-help groups, and traditional producers while helping preserve Goa’s rich cultural and culinary heritage. The two-day celebration also includes various competitions and spot prizes for women and children, adding to the festive atmosphere.
