The Merces Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court has acquitted prime accused Balashri Telgiri along with 15 co-accused in a 12-year-old criminal case involving allegations of rioting, unlawful assembly, assault, and outraging the modesty of a woman.
The court granted acquittal to all 16 accused after the complainant and the alleged victim informed the trial court that they no longer wished to pursue the matter further.

The case had remained pending for over a decade and involved charges related to unlawful gathering, physical assault, and alleged misconduct against a woman. During the proceedings, both the complainant and the victim expressed their unwillingness to continue with the prosecution, leading the court to close the matter.
Following their statements before the court, the JMFC acquitted all the accused persons in the case.
