MERCES: Claiming innocence of its headmaster Sheikh Suleiman Carol, the management of the Jadeed Urdu School along with the teachers and staff, have pointed fingers at the teacher who has accused the headmaster of molestation.
Speaking at a news conference in the school premises at Indira Nagar-Chimbel, the management chairman Rashid Badrapur claimed that the headmaster is innocent and termed the molestation charges as fabricated, done so, to malign the name of the school and the headmaster.
“The teacher wanted her services to be regularized, but she was not producing the original certificates of her qualification, due to which her services were terminated,” Badrapur informed. “Out of revenge, the whole episode was made up by the teacher concerned.”
Acting headmistress Shabana Banu also came out in support of the headmaster stating that in her 15 years of service she has not come across any misbehaviour from the headmaster towards female teachers.
When questioned why the headmaster was not coming to school, the management members produced a letter of sick leave from the headmaster dated October 22, the very day the teacher accused the HM of molestation.
When questioned how the headmaster could personally submit the sick leave letter if he had fallen sick, secretary Aslam Khan stated, “Our rules state that any employee reporting sick should provide letter of sick leave and since the headmaster resides nearby, he had personally submitted the letter.”
On the molestation issue, Khan alleged the hand of a person who had coerced the teacher to file such charges so that the school’s name is defamed. However, he refused to name the person.
When asked if the management had been in touch with the headmaster since the issue had surfaced and whether they were aware of his whereabouts, Khan replied in the negative but stated that he would soon appear before the media to reply to the charges.
However, the management members failed to clarify how a teacher was employed in the school without producing original documents and that too, for more than two years. They were also unable to state who was patronizing the teacher for so long.
The management members, further, tried to wash its hands off the recruitment issue when secretary Aslam Khan said that the teacher was recruited under the previous management.
However, at the same time, he stated that the teacher’s services were terminated last year for not producing the original documents and then re-instated.
When quizzed by the media why, at that point of time, the current management didn’t demand for the teacher’s original certificate before re-instating her, Khan had no answer.
The management members also had no clue whether the Xerox certificates of the teacher are in their possession as they said that they are in the locker and the keys are with the headmaster.
