MARGAO: Mickky Pacheco, the supremo of Goa Vikas Party (GVK), has expressed his desire to field new faces in maximum number of constituencies in Goa including Benaulim.
“We will have 75% new faces this election including Benaulim Constituency,” Mickky said.
Benaulim which is now represented by Caetano Silva in the State Assembly and who was elected under GVK banner has, meanwhile, confirmed his candidature as an Independent in upcoming Assembly election and his detachment from GVK.
Caitu is now bracing for the lonely battle in the constituency. Caitu says that there are lot of internal problems in the GVP and that he would yield to pressure from anyone in the party.
Asserting that BJP has no voter in his constituency, Caitu claimed that a political party approached him to join it, but he declined.
Caitu said that he has decided to contest as an Independent “not because I have been denied the ticket or may not be getting one, but because I believe that I have done enough for the people of Benaulim.”
