Amid the ongoing agitation in Mirabag over the proposed Bandara project, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to residents to trust his assurances and withdraw their protest.
Speaking on the issue, the Chief Minister stated that when he makes a public statement, it should be trusted by the people. He further clarified that no bandh (shutdown) would take place in Mirabag.
However, protesters have expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government’s stance. Responding to the Chief Minister’s remarks, residents said they have already met him three times but remain unconvinced by his assurances.
“We are being asked to trust him, but at this point, we have no trust left. We want a written assurance that the Bandara project has been scrapped,” the protesters stated.
The standoff highlights growing tensions between the state government and local residents, with the latter insisting on formal documentation before calling off their agitation.
