According to the Administrator, the remaining four chandeliers are currently stored within the MMC premises in a dismantled condition. He stated that these fixtures were not missing but had been taken down for maintenance and preservation purposes.

Fernandes further informed that the dismantled chandeliers will undergo repairs and restoration before being reinstalled at appropriate locations within the municipal building.

The clarification comes after concerns were raised regarding the alleged disappearance of the antique lighting fixtures, which are considered part of the municipality’s heritage assets. With the chandeliers now accounted for, MMC authorities have assured that steps are being taken to restore and preserve them for future use.

The council is expected to undertake the necessary restoration work in the coming months to ensure the chandeliers are returned to their original prominence within the historic municipal premises.
